As the saying goes, caveat emptor or buyer beware. Of course, there is nothing wrong with being thrifty, especially in our present economy. However, in every trade there lurks the inexperienced and under priced low baller. I’m sure at some point you have heard a story from a family member, a coworker or a friend about a nightmare involving a contractor. A little money saved (maybe) and a lot of headaches later, you may find it wasn’t worth the potential savings, especially when you are hiring a contractor to provide a long lasting, high profile item. Now, we are not saying that every low bidder is a “gypsy” contractor, just to beware. Research your contractors, look for references and pictures of past work, and ask not just how long he has been in business for, but how long he has provided that particular service for?

Although you shouldn’t hesitate to ask why one price is high or why another is so low, consider exactly what you are getting for that price. Look at the proposal carefully, make sure the scope of work is correct, the product is what you asked for. Be sure both companies are bidding the same work. What are the extra costs, how many site visits are included, what are the hidden charges not obvious on its face? Often times, the lower price is for a lesser quality job, from a less skilled company, or does not include the full scope of the work resulting in additional charges to the customer later down the road.

Parking Lines, LLC has been in the business of line striping and pavement marking on Cape Cod and the surrounding areas for over 30 years. As a family owned and operated business, we take pride in the quality of work, the reputation of our company, the skill of our employees, and the satisfaction of our customers. We are the Cape’s pavement marking professional and have been for three generations. Our approach is time tested and includes innovative techniques and lot preparation, the use of state of the art equipment, superior quality products, and skilled and experienced employees.

Repainting your company’s parking lot is an important part of maintaining the appearance of your business. A freshly painted lot is one of the first things a customer sees when they pull into your store. As part of the face of your business, it is so important that your pavement look as good as the rest of your storefront. In the pavement marking industry, often a bad job cannot be undone. When considering the permanence of the work to be performed, it makes it all that more important that you select a competent, reputable and seasoned professional with years of experience in the line painting industry. And remember, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

We are proud to kick off our thirtieth season providing professional line painting and other parking lot services to Cape Cod, Massachusetts and neighboring states. Spanning three generations of knowledge, our team has mastered time tested techniques making Parking Lines an industry leader.

Winter, if we can call that winter, is winding down early this year. With little snow falling this year, a lot of business owners, towns, hotels and motels, restaurants and the like still have a lot of their winter budgets intact. This is a great chance to get a few more spring spruce up projects done without blowing the spring clean up budget either. Let your customers know you are weathering this economy and are back this year looking better and more ready for business than ever. With tourism getting ready to burst on Cape Cod, line painting is an easily over looked item. In fact, an efficiently and newly painted parking lot is one of the key ways to get more customers in your business.

Not only does a newly restriped parking lot look great and appeal to customers, it is also necessary to ensure safe traffic flow. Clearly marked handicaps and well defined legends such as arrows, crosswalks and fire lanes help ensure the safety of your customers and keep you in compliance with various ordinances and laws. Another way to help achieve these goals is by installing proper signage. Controlling traffic with signs is one of the most effective ways to get a message to a driver or a pedestrian, day or night.

Addressing parking lot maintenance now can save you money. Inevitable spring showers are coming and the water fall and runoff they cause to drain through asphalt cracks is one of the main causes of asphalt degradation. Filling your cracks in your parking lot or drive way before they become too large to crack fill can save a lot of money in costly future asphalt repair.

Call Parking Lines now to get on the spring schedule for all your pavement marking and crack fill needs. Remember, being proactive about your parking lot maintenance is one of the best ways to appeal to your customer base and to save money in the future.
